Hawthorn Kek Lapis may sound "ang-mo or mat salleh" to most of us, but "San-Zha Kek Lapis" is well known in town! This kek lapis tastes as good as it sounds. The texture of this kek lapis is moist, soft and full with "San-Zha" but amazingly not sweet! For better enhancement, we prefer to have it with the "Yin-Zhen" white tea leaves as it lends her crystalline flavour to this celestial blend. It freshens your tounge while you will find the well-blended white tea matches perfectly with "San-Zha."
Hawthorn Kek Lapis
To serve it warm, pre-heat oven for 90-120 seconds at around 150-170ºc, cut the layer into slices of about 1.5cm thick and warm the layer at approximately 20-25 seconds. To serve it chilled, cut the layer into slices of about 1.5cm thick and serve.
**Store the uncut portion back into the refrigerator.
